You can use information and performance tools to try to detect these programs or device drivers. To check for performance issues

1. To open Performance Information and Tools, click the Start button, Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, and then click Performance Information and Tools.

2. Click Advanced Tools.

3. In Performance issues, click any of the problems listed.

4. Read the dialog box that appears to know the programs or drivers that cause problems.

If a program or driver prevents your computer is turned on quickly

You can try the following tasks to fix the problem:

- Manage the programs that run at startup. Some programs start automatically when Windows starts. Many of these programs opening at the same time can slow your computer. To disable these programs from startup and improve performance, use Windows Defender. For more information, see Stop a program from running when Windows starts.

- Check with the manufacturer of the program or driver. A more recent version of the program could include a solution of the problem.

If a program or driver prevents your computer from shutting down quickly

You can try the following tasks to fix the problem:

- Close the program before shutting down. Maybe the problem only occurs if the program is running. Close the program before shutting down Windows and then see if the computer shuts down correctly.

- Check with the manufacturer of the program or driver. A more recent version of the program could include a solution of the problem.

If these options do not solve the problem, the program or driver is incompatible with Windows. If you installed the program or device yourself and no longer used, it is advisable to remove the device or uninstall the program or driver.
